The Tenney School
Welcome to The Tenney School, where we believe in the power of tailored instruction for every student. Our custom-made educational plan is designed to meet the diverse academic, emotional, and social needs of each individual student, ensuring that they are met where they are and accelerated to their highest potential. We firmly believe that students who have ample one-to-one time with their teachers will fully achieve their academic potential. Our teachers get to know their students well and are better able to leverage their strengths, repair weaknesses, hone successful study habits, and develop their cognitive skills. Students who have spent time one-to-one with their instructors know better how to approach academics and achieve success.
Our philosophy of individual student attention has been the foundation of our program since our founding in 1973 by my parents, George and Judy Tenney. This approach has led to the success of hundreds of students who have grown, matured, and developed skills to be successful in both school and life.

Accreditation
The Tenney School has maintained accreditation through Cognia (formerly the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools) since 1979. The accreditation process is repeated every five-to-six years. The last School Accreditation Engagement Review of The Tenney School was successfull completed in February 2022.
The Tenney School earned an Index of Education Quality (IEQ) score of 318.5 from Cognia on the last review. This IEQ is well above the average school IEQ (278.34 – 283.33).
