It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that one of our school’s beloved founders, George Edward Tenney, III passed away on April 29 following an accident. George, along with his wife, Judy, founded The Tenney School in 1973. Together they built a one-of-a-kind school that has helped so many students achieve their academic potential and grow into outstanding citizens of the world. His 37 years as Headmaster were a true ministry, impacting both the lives and academics of scores of students and their families. His son Mike, now Head of School, carries on his commitment to the school’s students and their families.

Outside of school, George was a man faithful to his commitments, possessed with a strong sense of humor, and an ardent student of Scripture. For many years he served on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship, as a Men’s Bible Study Fellowship leader, and as a longtime member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed.

You can find additional information about George’s life and upcoming events to honor him in his obituary.
